Imme Schmidts
For 17 years, I have been managing the Spanish branch of Pantaenius, Europe's leading specialist for boat and yacht insurance. I know what it means to be a decision-maker in a male domain, and not just because of the establishment of this branch. Born in Germany, I have been involved in the Balearic yachting industry for 30 years. My passion for boats was passed down to me from at a very early age. As a child, I was always enthusiastic about star and dragon sailing. Today, with the same enthusiasm, I am the contact person for yacht owners of all kinds and can rely on my excellent team and our first-class products. Passion and uncertainty can be like two sides of a coin and therefore, the expectations of out and out sailors versus recreational boaters can be very different when it comes to insurance. My aim is to make Pantaenius the best choice at all times, for any owner, for any particular requirement. With access to the Lloyds insurance market on the one hand and in-house developed insurance solutions on the other, Pantaenius is well equipped to design a suitable solution for every need. Our healthy independence from the price battles in the London market have always allowed us to focus on our core competencies, with quality as our chosen benchmark. Pantaenius’ unique structure allows us to take a different path whenever necessary or appropriate. With our network of eleven offices we have the ability to work across multiple time zones and languages without any third parties involved. We can issue policies in your local language and our 24/7 claims department works the same way. This is a major advantage for every policyholder, captain and crew that surpasses the capabilities of most other providers. Pantaenius not only creates links between the world's superyacht hubs, but also offers true local service wherever the yacht goes.
